Joan says, "There's no cover and no minimum, but donations would be appreciated.  About 7 or 8 of us will be singing based on the theme, 'Time After Time.'  You can order dinner at the bistro, but it's not necessary.  They also offer small plates (like tapas) and drinks.  To make a reservation (wise), go to www.littlebucharestbistro.com.  Address and phone number are there.


Donation Opportunities

1.           Winnetka Congregational Church Rummage

Donation box on Pine Street at the east end of the Winnetka Community House parking lot.  7 days a week, 8:30 – 4:00. 

Clothing and everything except large appliances, mattresses, exercise equipment, office or baby furniture.  They even take vehicles!

Call to schedule your Tuesday furniture pick up.

 

2.           Saints Faith Hope and Charity Church (847) 446-7646

191 Linden Rd., Winnetka

A drop box for clothing is located in the parking lot on Hill Rd.  Donations go to St. Vincent De Paul’s resale shop.

 

3.           These agencies will pick up items from your home.  Just call for pick up date.  Once you are on their list, they will call you periodically to see if you have anything else to donate.

4.             Christ Church Rummage  (847) 446-2850

Drop off from 8am – 4pm weekdays, 8am – 12 weekends

Behind the church at 700 Oak Street in Winnetka

Get a receipt from the church office, enter from the parking lot

They will take almost anything. They will pick up if you call.

 

5.           Winnetka Library (847) 446-7220

Will accept paperback books that they will drop off at the train station for commuters.  Library hours:  Mon. – Thurs. 9 – 9, Fri & Sat. 9 – 5, Sun. 1 – 5.

 

6.             Glencoe Library (847) 835-5056

320 Park Ave., corner of Green Bay Rd. and Park

There is a collection box inside the front door. 

Library hours:  Mon. – Thurs. 9 – 9, Fri. 9 – 5:30, & Sat. 9 – 5,

Sun. 1 – 5 (after Labor Day, through spring)

 

7.             Wilmette Library (847) 256-5025

There is a door that is left unlocked for donations until 4pm daily.  It is located just off the parking lot at the northeast side of the building.  There are receipts available for you to fill out.  Bring donations to the front desk after 4pm. 

They accept all books, magazines up to 6 months old, CDs, DVDs, Videotapes, Cassette tapes, and Records.

8.           The Resale Shop at the Glenview Community Church (847) 724-2638 Downstairs at 1000 Elm St., 3 blocks west of Harlem Ave. at Glenview Rd.

Open Sat 9-1, Thursday 9-5

Receiving donations and consignments 9-noon

They take books to male and female prisoners.  No cookbooks please.

Phones are refurbished and donated to victims of domestic violence.  Phones must be disconnected, and do not have to be functional.
